Raymond A. Fann

Raymond was born on September 26, 1934 in Hurst to Raymond and Wanda (Dean) Fann. They precede him in death.

He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 and was stationed in Germany.

Raymond worked as a coal miner and was a bus driver for South Central.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammy and Mike Murray of Zeigler and Diane Fann of Zeigler; grandsons, Ryan and Kirsten Goodisky of Marion, Thomas and Leslie Fann of Johnston City, and Jeff Fann of Johnston City; Great grandchildren Nolan Fann of Johnston City, Lauren Goodisky of Marion, Madyson Fann of Johnston City, Hudson Fann of Johnston City, Samuel Fann of Johnston City, and Barrett Fann of Johnston City; Siblings Dorothy Shelton of hurst and Susie and Ralph Taylor of Herrin; brother-in-law, Don Phillips of Carterville; several nieces and nephews; Step-daughters Joy and David Gaddis of Johnston City and Vickie Mcvey of Johnston City; step-grandchildren Amy and Jamie Beck of Huntsville Alabama, Brandon Gaddis of Johnston City, Allen Smith of West Virginia, Colt and Nicole Mcvey of Johnston City, and Bo and Rachel Mcvey of Johnston City; and 14 step-great grandchildren.

Raymond is preceded in death by the love of his life, Shirley Morgan Mitchell; wife Shirley Mcvey Fann; son, Samuel Fann; Step-son, Neal Mcvey; Step-daughter, Terry Mcvey; Brothers Leroy, George, and Bill Fann; and sisters, Flossie Fann, and Martha Phillips.

Raymond's wishes were to be cremated. Graveside services will be held for family and friends at the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City on December 6, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with Military Rites. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
