Rhonda Kay Starnes, 63 of Marion, IL gained her wings on October 13th at 2:47pm in Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. surrounded by family.

Rhonda was born June 26th 1959 in Harrisburg, IL daughter of James Starnes and Wanda (Beasley) Starnes.

Rhonda met Robert Short in 1997 and spent the rest of their lives in a loving relationship.

Before her health prevented it Rhonda loved to cook, go fishing or spend an evening around a campfire. Later in life she was happy with watching westerns and Joel Osteen with Robert and spending time with her grandson.

She was survived by one daughter Melanie and Mark Rady of Marion, IL, one grandson Kasen Rady of Marion, IL. One sister Gayla and Tom Dougan of Creal Springs, IL and two brothers Bill and Theresa Starnes of Creal Springs , IL, Gordon (Trish Hall) Starnes of Elizabethtown, IL. One nephew Jimmy Starnes of Marion, IL and four nieces Lisa Craig of Dykersburg, IL, Danielle and Jason Craig, of Creal Springs, IL; Amber and Toby Jack of Marion, IL and Julie Davis of Carbondale, IL. Two aunts Sue Holmes and Winnie Payne of Crab Orchard, IL. Many cousins, great nieces and nephews and friends she would consider family.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her love Robert Short and her little buddy Brutis by mere days. Her parents James and Wanda Starnes, two brothers Mike Starnes and Greg Starnes. Her best friend Brenda Clark and a grandbaby that never made it to earthside.

Services for Rhonda and Robert will be held October 21 ^st at Murman and Wilson Funeral home in Johnston City, IL.  Visitation starts at 11am, funeral service at 1pm with burial immediately following at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Murman and Wilson Funeral on behalf of the family.
