Richard "Rick" Allen Rogers, age 61, of Johnston City passed away at 12:56 A.M. on July 28, 2026 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.He is now with his Lord and Savior, as he recently accepted Jesus into his heart.

Rick was born September 21, 1964, in Hammond, IN to Walter and Eileen Schubert Rogers.

Rick was formerly married to Christine Pych. Together, they had a daughter, Tesla Rogers.

On July 2, 2008, Rick married Mary Murray, in Williamson County. They have shared 18 years of marriage together.

Rick graduated from Bloom Trail High School in 1983. His work history included jobs as over the road truck driver, chef, and direct support person for the mentally handicapped. For the last 21 years he worked as a Certified Nurses Aid at several healthcare facilities in Southern Illinois, until his health led to his retirement.

Rick is survived by his wife, Mary, of Johnston City; daughter Tesla Rogers of Herrin; son Nathan Murray of Kankakee; stepson Brandon Murray of Rockford; granddaughters Jade Rogers (who he affectionately called Pork Chop), Melody Nalley, and grandson Grayson Chandlee; siblings Mike Rogers of AL, Bill (Dede) Rogers of Beecher, Tom Rogers of Deming NM, Lila (Mike) Mitok of Brooksville FL; three half brothers and sisters, and five stepbrothers and sisters. Father and mother-in-law Larry and Marla Harris. Many nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law Eric (Tally) Harris of Wonderlake.

There will be a time of visitation from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 3, 2026 at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Bobby Parker will officiate. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills.
