RICHARD DALE RUSHING

Herrin–Richard Dale Rushing 74, of Herrin, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion.

A graveside Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday March 19, 2016, in the Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin with Pastor Don Colson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Herrin V.F.W., American Legion, Freeman Spur American Legion, and the Illinois Army National Guard.

Richard was born on March 21, 1941, in Herrin the son of Eugene and Lillian Mae (Payne) Rushing. He married Donna Lee (Dawson) on July 3, 1988 in Paducah, KY. She survives.

Richard was a retired electrical engineer at Herrin Hospital for 18 ½ years. He proudly served in the army.

He is survived by six children, Tim Shriner and wife Gina of Arkansas, Debbie Jerrolds of Downers Grove, Vicki Lamb and husband Charles of Carterville, Randy Jeralds of Colp, Joyce Elaine Riggs and husband Danny of Herrin, and Kent Scott Jeralds and wife Nancy of Herrin; one sister, Irma Schoenbaum and husband Bruce of Burbank; childhood friends, Richard and Linda Herrick of North Port, FL.; and several, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Neal Ray Jeralds; a sister, Sharon Younger; and a brother, Norman Rushing.
