ROBERT CLYDELL HOFFARD

Johnston City-Robert Clydell Hoffard, 94, of Johnston City passed away at 4:10 A.M. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday January 4, 2015, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Rodney Joplin and Pastor Andy Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice or to the church of donor's choice.
Robert was born on December 6, 1920 in Johnston City the son of Seamer and Eula (Chapman) Hoffard. He married Leora Geneva (Thompson) on August 16, 1940 in Jackson, MO. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2006.
He retired from I.D.O.T. as a highway maintainer in 1986. He enjoyed spending time at his farm and eating at Andresen's with his nephew Bill. He was a faithful member of the Church of God of Benton.
He is survived by two daughters, Ramona Holland of Johnston City and Phyllis Spiller and husband Kenny of Johnston City; five grandchildren, Ronnie Gibbens and wife Sarah, Jimmy Gibbens, Kenny Spiller and wife Tina, Robert Spiller, and Gina Summers; six great grandchildren, Daniel Spiller, Jessica Kiel and husband Mitch, David Spiller, Jennifer Gibbens, Nicholas Summers, and Hannah Summers; a brother, Mark Hoffard and wife Mildred of Johnston City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Violet Hoffard; a sister, Elsie Smith; and three brothers, Vincent Hoffard, Gene Hoffard, and Paul Hoffard.
