Robert L. Short, 62 of Marion, IL passed away October 3 ^rd at 8:43pm in Herrin Hospital just hours shy of his 63 ^rd birthday.

Robert was born on October 4 ^th 1959 in Marion, IL son of James Orville Short and Ruby (Beasley) Short.

He was a master drywall finisher by trade and loved his work. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and Joel Osteen. He most enjoyed his time at home with his love Rhonda and grandson. Robert was a gentle soul and left a footprint on the heart of everyone he met.

He was survived by the love of his life Rhonda Starnes, whom he was reunited with a few short days later. He is survived by five children Melanie (Mark) Rady of Marion, IL. Brad (Katherine) Short of Henderson, KY. Joshua Short of Marion, IL; Derrick Short of Kingston, Oh. Jeremy Foster of Marion, IL. Six grandchildren, Teagan, Kasen, Jacob, Valerie, Christian, Jenna. One brother James (Beverly) Short of Marion, IL. One sister Katherine Short of Marion, IL. Three nieces and three nephews and many friends he would consider family.

He was preceded in death by his daughter April Short, his parents James Orville Short Sr and Ruby Short. And his beloved nephew Jason Bruce, his little Tiger.

Services for Robert and Rhonda will be held October 21 ^st at Murman and Wilson Funeral home in Johnston City, IL.  Visitation starts at 11am, funeral service at 1pm with burial immediately following at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Murman and Wilson Funeral on behalf of the family.
