Robert Dean Stephenson Oct 28, 1923 – July 5, 2016

Bob Stephenson, age 92 ¾ yrs old, passed away peacefully at Herrin Hospital.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jacqueline (Pearce) Stephenson: children, Jane (Edwards) Gombosi (Joe) of Lockport, IL & Richard Edwards (Cherie) of Romeoville, IL. Four Grandchildren, Chris (Lori) Gombosi, Matt Gombosi (Shannon Meinke), Kelly (Edwards) Lahiere (Brian) & Daven (Kristen) Edwards, and seven Great Grandchildren, Madison Gombosi, Ava Gombosi, Chloe Wallace, Trent Wallace, Gia Wallace, Catherine Edwards & Ava Edwards.
Bob is survived by his sister, Marilyn Stout (Gerald) & brother in law, Bob Kemper. Also survived by his sister in laws, Shirley Lantrip & Sandra Armes & brother in law, Norman Armes, and numerous nephews & one niece.
Bob was proceeded in death by his parents, Homer and Pearl Stephenson & a sister, Joann Kemper.
Bob was born & raised in Johnston City & played the clarinet in high school & college.
Bob retired from Railway Express
Bob was a tournament bowler in his younger days. Bob followed all the Johnston City sports teams. Bob enjoyed gardening & was especially a green thumb for starting rose plantings.
Bob was happiest when surrounded by his family.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday July 9, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City with Homer Stallings officiating. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
