Cahokia–Mrs. Roberta Vatovec, nee Herron 82 of Cahokia, walked away hand and hand with her Heavenly Father thru the golden gates of Heaven on Sunday February 7, 2010.

She left this world giving her family a legacy of love to be passed down from generations to come.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Albin Vatovec; daughters, Cheryl Fair and husband Dave, Joni Scrivner and husband Dave; grandchildren, D.J., Joey, Robbie and wife Jenny, Tracy, Jamie and husband Manuel, Alex, Ashley; great grandchildren, Nick, Shelby, Gavin, Kelsey, Addison, Jessica, Robbie, Jake, Raven, Damian, and Mannie; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Barbara Vatovec; and various nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday February 9, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Braun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday February 10, 2010 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City.

Funeral procession to leave at 9:45 A.M. on Wednesday February 10, 2010 from the Braun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia for a 10:00 A.M. Mass at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia with Father Paul Wienhoff officiating. A funeral service will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City at 10:00 A.M. Thursday February 11, 2010 with Sr. Catherine Wellinghoff officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or to the American Heart Association.
