RON STEPEK

Johnston City-Ron Stepek 78 passed away at 8:58 A.M. Thursday August 29, 2024 at home surrounded by family.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday September 6, 2024 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Father Brian Barker officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Marion American Legion, V.F.W. and the Army Burial Honors Team.  Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Ron was born on September 17, 1945 in Harvey the son of John Michael and Josephine Rose (Kabaj) Stepek. He married Linda (Hennesy) who survives.

Ron was an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a big Cubs and Bears fan. He was a member of the Buccaneer's Club of Johnston City. He was of Catholic Faith.

Ron is survived by 3 children, Tammy Marks and husband David, Tina Stepek, and Jeremy Stepek; 3 granddaughters, Ashleigh Vetter, Carrie Robinson and husband Lucas, and Cierra Rudesill; 3 great grandchildren, Hayden Eckert, Kensley Robinson, and Archer Maestas; 2 step-grandchildren, Carly and Madison Marks; and a step-great grandchild, Angelina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Eugene; sisters, Florence, Charolette and Josephine; a step-grandson, Tristan; and his beloved companion Dakota and Nanook.
