ROSALEE SUE MURPHY

Johnston City-Rosalee Sue Murphy 77, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Tuesday August 23, 2016 at 6:00 A.M. at Helia Healthcare in Energy.

Rose was born on April 28, 1939 in Johnston City to Cora Mae (Mezo) and John Miner. She married Cecil Murphy on September 26, 1955 in Corinth, Mississippi.

Together they had many years of happiness and were blessed with 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Rose was a homemaker that truly enjoyed her family. Nothing made her more happy than to watch her grandchildren grow to have families and successful careers.

She is survived by daughter Patty Greeney(Michael D.Grant), Grandson Brandon Greeney(Ashley), Great Grandson Colton Greeney, Great Granddaughter Hanna Molck, Grandson Bryan Greeney(Leighanne) Great Grandson Bryant Greeney, Daughter in law Marsha Murphy, Grandson Michael Murphy, Granddaughters Kelly and Heather Murphy, Daughter Rose Sue Murphy, Dear friends: Eileen, Jim, Maryanne, Sue and Tom.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil, Son, Rick and infant daughter, Debbie. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers over the 2 ½ year battle with Cancer but especially the staff at Helia/Arch in Energy who were the most caring, compassionate Healthcare Professionals, Thank You.

As per her wishes, she will be cremated and graveside services be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday August 27, 2016 at the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City with Pastor Don Colson officiating. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
