Rosella Mae Hubbell

Johnston City-Rosella Mae Hubbell, 86, of Johnston City passed away in Peace and Grace at her home on Friday November 27, 2009 at 6:07 P.M..

Rosella was born to John Edward and Nellie Ethel (South) Courtney October 24, 1923 in Springfield, IL.

Rosella was the loving wife of Harold R. Hubbell who preceded her in death in July 1998. The Hubbells were long-time members of the Spillertown Baptist Church with a long history of anonymous generosity to multiple charitable organizations and individuals in need.

'Mama' 'Grandma' 'GG" is survived by her children Jerry and Juanita Forth of Serena, Chuck and Arlinda Shuck of Marion, Roy and Sharon Hubbell of Johnston City, Ed and Marlene Noel of Lebanon, MO, David and Lara Pier of Johnston City and Gary and Arlowyne Culpepper of Belle Rive; sixteen Grandchildren; thirty-one Great Grandchildren and two Great Great Grand-children. She is also survived by her sister Elsie "Mickey" Rudin of Springfield; and two brothers Harry and Edward Courtney both of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold 'Spud' Hubbell, five sisters, one brother and one grandson.

She expressed her wishes we all Love each other and be charitable.

Visitation will be from at 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday November 30 at Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City. Mrs. Hubbell will be laid to rest with her husband at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City following the funeral service at 11 am Tuesday with Rev. Edward "Shorty" Alsip officiating.
