ROY EARL BENTON

Johnston City–Roy Earl Benton 67 passed away at 10:42 P.M. on Friday October 14, 2011 at the Arrowhead Lake Campground in Johnston City.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday October 21, 2011, at the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City with Pastor Lee Petty officiating. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

Roy was born on January 6, 1944 in Johnston City the son of Roy Liner and Jewell Crystal (Kee) Benton.

Roy worked as a plant manager for Kraft Foods and for Abbott Labs. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War proudly serving in the marines.

He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Rose and husband Jeff of Fox Lake; a son, Joel Benton and wife Keri of McHenry; a daughter, Cathy Benton and fiancé Drew of Phoenix, AZ; five beloved grandchildren; Kaytlin, Adam, Libby, Zachary, and Isaac; a brother, George Benton and wife Lee of Kentucky; an aunt, Mary Kee of Johnston City; and several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Teddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gene Benton; and two sisters, Lucille King and Janice Harty.
