RUBY MCCOMBS

Johnston City-Ruby McCombs 99, of Johnston City passed away at 9:25 A.M. on Wednesday March 30, 2011 at the Harrisburg Medical Center. Now she has gone from us to be with her Heavenly Father and her family.

Graveside services will be held on Friday April 1, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City with Pastor Bill Rucker officiating. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Murman and Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ruby was born on February 21, 1912 in Dwina the daughter of William and Littie (Smiley) Williams life long residents of Johnston City. She was married to Therman McCombs who preceded her in death in 1951.

Ruby lived many years in Johnston City. The past several years she lived with her granddaughter Paula Perry and husband Larry and grandson Gage. When Ruby's husband died she still had small children and she worked in Johnston City cleaning homes for clients. She was a lady that enjoyed her home and gardening. Every summer she would have beautiful flowers in her garden. She will be sadly missed by her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Jean Alice Absher of Decatur and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three sons, John , Dennis and Bill McCombs; two brothers, Burl and Henry Williams,and three sisters, Pearl Smith, Naomi Wheeler, and Maggie Strope.
