RUBY LOIS "SIS" ROGERS
Thompsonville-Ruby Lois "Sis" Rogers, 87, of Thompsonville, passed away at 6:54 A.M. on Sunday, January 5, 2014 in the Herrin Hospital.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. John Howat officiating. Burial will be held in the County Line Cemetery of Thompsonville. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ruby was born on October 28, 1926 in rural Thompsonville the daughter of Arvel and Ellen (Rains) Rogers.
Ruby lived the last five years at Heritage Woods in Benton.
She was a member of the County Line Baptist Church of Thompsonville. She loved living at Heritage Woods and being a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed the company of others and loved to play bingo and go to church.
She is survived by a brother, Delmar Duane "Tree" Rogers; a sister, Betty Jane (Rogers) Summers; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gale Edward Rogers; and three brothers, James Lloyd, Floyd Dean, and Arvel Dale Rogers
Ruby was very thankful for Marilyn Jane Inboden for the care that she gave her.
