Ruth Henson, age 76, of Herrin died on Tuesday August 25, 2026, at 8:30 P.M. at Herrin Hospital surrounded by her family

She was born February 15, 1950, in Herrin.

She was preceded in death by her mother; Norma Duffield, her adopted parents; Franklin and Surilda Henson, and sisters; Kay, Donna, Paula, and Thelma Henson and a brother; Franklin Henson.

She is survived by a daughter Ellen (Louie) Richardson of West Frankfort, two grandsons; Josh and Jake Richardson of West Frankfort, sister; Marita Duffield (Bob Wharton) of Fairbury, brothers; Johnny (Jeannie) Holt of Herscher, Tim (Denise) Duffield of Manning SC, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She loved coloring, crocheting, puzzles, and the outdoors.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday September 5, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.

Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
