RUTH LONG
Johnston City-Ruth Long, 88, of Johnston City, passed away at 2:30 P.M. on Friday, February 21, 2014 in the Carbondale Rehab & Nursing Center.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Fr. Jon Griffin and Fr. Larry Lemay officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ruth was born on April 5, 1925 in Johnston City the daughter of John and Lenora (Schoch) Gustat. She married Charles Buford Long on April 17, 1943 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1979.

Ruth was a retired secretary working for Dura Container's in Herrin. She was a member of the St. Mark's Episcopal Church of West Frankfort.

She is survived one daughter, Sara Long Roth and husband Kevin of Carbondale; two granddaughters, Erika Kuethe and husband Ray of High Point, NC and Shannon Roth of Carbondale; two great grandsons, Justin and Carson; one sister, Bernadine Johnson of Glen Carbon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
