SHARON LEE GIBBENS

Johnston City-Sharon Lee Gibbens, 79, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 11:10 A.M. in Integrity of Marion.

Sharon was born on April 3, 1943 in Johnston City the daughter of William and Hazel (Spitzner) Stevens. She married Orlan Gibbens on March 24, 1962 in Johnston City. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2003.

Sharon was a retired cashier at Peppy's Food Shop. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Johnston City.

She is survived by a son, Bryan and wife Melissa Gibbens of Johnston City; and a daughter, Deborah Walden and significant other Larry Farmer of Johnston City; grandchildren Brianna Walden, Brittney Gibbens, Joshua Gibbens; a step grandson Cecil Hayes Jr.; a great grandson, Jasper Ellis; a step great granddaughter Bethany Hayes; a step great grandson; Brayden Hayes; a brother Larry and wife Maureen Stevens, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a sister; Wanda Martin, and a brother; Bill Stevens.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 25, at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
