SHARON FAYE (HOWELL) GUDE

Herrin–Sharon Faye (Howell) Gude 75, of Herrin, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 5:30 A.M. at her home surrounded by her family.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday June 23, 2016, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Jeffrey Gee officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

She was born on May 23, 1941 in Johnston City the daughter of Elmore and Almeda (Reed) Howell.

She attended Johnston City High School and was a member of the Hurricane Baptist Church.

She married Dennis Triplett and together had four children, Jerry Triplett and wife Susan of Zeigler, Kimberly Essick and husband Robert of Herrin, Edith Massey of Herrin; and Robert Arthur Triplett who preceded her in death.

She is survived by 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Charles Howell and wife Betty of Granite City and Richard Howell of Marion.

She was a life-long homemaker and foster parent. She also liked to go fishing with her favorite fishing partner Kevin O'Conner her great grandson a senior at Herrin High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, and a brother Jerry Howell.
