SHARON LEE (RUSHING) YOUNGER
Herrin–Sharon Lee (Rushing) Younger 68 passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 2:55 P.M. at the Herrin Hospital.
Sharon was born on July 24, 1943 the daughter of Eugene and Lillian (Payne) Rushing.
She is survived by five children, Melva Combs and husband Albert of Herrin, Shelbi Hammontree of Herrin, Roy Younger and longtime companion Keith Parkhill of Carterville, Lawanda Grizzell of West Frankfort, and Ryan Younger of Herrin; a sister, Irma Schoenbaum and husband Bruce of Burbank; a brother, Richard Rushing and wife Donna of Herrin; eleven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Norman Rushing; and one niece, Cathy (Rushing) Rapata
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday September 2, 2011, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
