SHAWN MATTHEW SHOEMAKE

Herrin-Shawn Matthew Shoemake, 35 passed away on Friday January 8, 2016 in St. Francis Hospital in Evanston.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday January 13, 2016 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Keith Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

He was born on December 22, 1980 in Herrin the son of Sally (Harper) Webster and David Shoemake.

Shawn attended Trinity University and was a manager at Restaurant Depot in Des Plaines. Shawn loved to cook and was a very good chef. He also loved to travel, shop, and to play golf. Prior to moving from the area he was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Benton.

Shawn is survived by his parents, Sally and Phillip Webster of Herrin and David and Jerri Shoemake of Johnston City; one sister, Stephanie (Reid) Cranmer of O'Fallon, MO; one niece, Hayli Cranmer; grandparents, Eula and Jerry Pigg of Johnston City; ex-wife, Frances Knapp of Des Plaines; fiancée, Meredith Wynne-Morton of Evanston; his beloved cats, Walle and Lucy; and numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry and Mary Harper and Claude and Helen Shoemake.

Shawn was very much loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
