SHERRILL JEAN OWENS
Johnston City-Sherrill Jean Owens only daughter of George and Sally (Conro) Owens has passed away peacefully at her home of 34 years in Carpentersville.
"Sheri" was born on November 1, 1956 in Sycamore.
The family lived in Genoa until 1968 and transferred to Flora. In 1973 the family came back to Sycamore where Sheri was a 1974 graduate of Sycamore High. She was of the Catholic Faith, always on the honor roll and in gifted student program. Sheri was in band, orchestra, chorus, and a madrigal singer. She started on the soccer team, also softball. She bowled on several leagues over the years. Sheri always loved cats and her last two were Abby and Gracie. She was an extremely hard worker both at Anaconda and N.T.N. in Elgin where she was a manufacturing technician for 19 years.
She was always ready with a word of wisdom for her three little brothers.
She had a love of life, rode a motorcycle, loved to fish and swim, work in her garden and make beautiful wooden decorations.
One of her adventures was her trip to Germany for 3 weeks with friend and co-worker Gerlinda; who remains a friend and a motorcycle trip to Washington D.C. with her brother Tom.
She never forgot a birthday, mother's day, father's day, or a Christmas, even though she at times lived many states away. After this last Christmas she messaged me "Best Christmas ever".
She was looking forward to moving close to her parents and had an offer on a home in West Frankfort.
She will be missed so deeply by her parents and 3 younger brothers Rick, Tom, and John; seven nieces, Rick's girls, Maranda, Desirae and Crystal; Tom's girl's, Alexis and McKenzie; John's girls, Nicole and Rose Marie the apple of her eye!
Burial will be in Johnston City alongside of her ancestors.
Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
