SHIRLEY CANADAY

Marion-Shirley Canaday passed away at 8:43 P.M. on Monday, December 26, 2022 in her family home.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2022 at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Louis Canaday officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

Shirley was born on February 18, 1948 in Johnston City the daughter of Paul and Wilma (Wiseman) Bruce. She married Steve Canaday on June 10, 1967 in Johnston City.

Shirley was an accomplished woman beginning in her high school years as a Johnston City High School Cheerleader. She was Miss Johnston City and Miss Williamson County in 1965. As an adult she was a President of Marion's Business and Professional Woman's Club (BPW), a Girl Scout Troop Leader for 6 years, and a proud mother and homemaker for a husband and 2 children.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Canaday; a daughter, Paula Canaday-Daeke and husband Mark of Georgia; a son, Jerry Canaday and wife Danielle of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Jerry and Ray Bruce; and an infant sister, Linda Lou Bruce.
