STELLA M. COOPER
Herrin–Stella "Memaw" (Adams) Cooper 72 of Herrin, went to the Lord's side on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 surrounded by her family.
She was born September 5, 1942 in Cobden to James and Ruby (Howard) Adams.
Stella is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia (Cooper) and Jason Hahs, four grandchildren: Brittaney Wright, Matthew Wright, Jace Hahs, and Jesse Hahs; a graet granddaughter, Harper Phipps; also by five brothers and sisters: James Adams, David Adams, John Adams, Mary Duncan, and Helen Troehler. Stella is also survived by several step children and their families and also by her favorite EMT, Tyler Morgan, who helped out tremendously over the last few months of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters, and three children.
She enjoyed helping people and would give all she had to anyone who asked. A lot of people looked at her as their mom and memaw because she never turned away anyone and always had her door open to anyone in need. She also enjoyed going to church, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers you may make donations at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, or you can make a donation in her name to a cancer organization of your choice.
A memorial service will be held at the Christian Covenant Fellowship in Carterville at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday July 18, 2015. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
