Johnston City–Stephen Earl Chandler 75 was called home on August 21, 2024 after a long illness.

on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 7:50 P.M. at home.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday August 24, 2024 in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Poordo with Pastor Keith Fletcher officiating.

Stephen Earl Chandler was born on November 15, 1948 to Gladys L (Conaway) and William H. Chandler in East St. Louis, Illinois. He married Jennifer (Mandrell) on June 10, 2000 and she survives.

Steve has 2 surviving daughters, Kelly (Chandler) Dudley and Kristen (Chandler) Preston from a previous marriage. He has 3 grandsons; Ayron Hagler, Chance (Marissa) Hagler and Brendan Preston and 1 granddaughter; Tori Ellis and her fiancé Adrian Johnson, mother-in-law Shiley Mandrell "Mom" and 2 spoiled dogs.

His siblings include Bill, Tim, Tom, Jerry, Jim, Karen (Callis), Mark and Kevin.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Bill and Jerry as well as Paul and John (in infancy) and a stepson, Kyle Adamson.

Steve was retired from Pepsi Mid-America after having worked for Anchor Packaging and Penn Central Transportation.

Before becoming too ill, Steve enjoyed fishing boating, football and finding new bread recipes to make.
