Jacqueline "Sue" hooper

Johnston City–Jacqueline "Sue" Hooper 87 passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 9:52 A.M. in Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Keith Owens officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Sue was born on August 1, 1935 in Herrin, the daughter of Fred and Lillie (Tolbert) Barron. She is survived by and married James Edward Hooper Jr. on February 15, 1957 in Corinth, MS.

Sue met her husband of 65 years while they attended grade school in Prosperity. She retired from Allen Industry in Herrin in 1995. Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by three children, James "Jay" Hooper III and wife Toni of Johnston City, Becky Logan of Carrier Mills, and Deena Vinson and husband Vince of Galatia; four grandchildren, Tabatha Tolbert, Lindsey Heldenfels and husband William, Jayma Stroud and husband Josh, and Desrie Farley and husband Stephen; five great grandchildren, Emerli Stroud, Beckett Stroud, Elowyn Farley, Magnolia Farley, and Scottie Heldenfels; and her dog Buddy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Shirley Bollinger.
