SUSAN LAVON WILSON
Marion-Susan Lavon Wilson, 63, of Marion formerly of Johnston City passed away on Friday July 31, 2015 at 9:47 A.M. in the Herrin Hospital.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Keith Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Susan was born on September 22, 1951 in Herrin the daughter of Clyde E. and Iris (Shearer) Sanders. She married C.D. Wilson on April 20, 2001. He survives.
Susan was a homemaker and a noon-hour aid at Washington School for twenty years. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Johnston City.
She is survived by her mother of Johnston City two daughters, Terra Buckner and husband Cayce of Carrier Mills and Tracy Griffey and husband Nicholas of Metropolis; three grandchildren, Aaron Buckner and fiancée Scottie Bohn, Dakota Buckner and fiancé Jonathan Utley, and Hayden Griffey; three great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jaydin, and Jase; three step-children, Terri A. Wilson, Erick C. Wilson, and Brenda K. Jones; two aunts, Pam Wiese and husband Ken and Karen Miner and husband Paul; one uncle, John Julian Shearer and wife Marge; a sister-in-law, Mary Trowbridge and husband Joe of College Station, TX; one niece, Arteka White and husband; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Michael Edward Sanders; two uncles; and four aunts.
