THELMA SCHAFER
Pittsburg-Thelma Schafer, 86, of Pittsburg, IL passed away on January 9, 2015 at 6 AM at Marion Rehab & Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Sunday, January 11 at noon. A brief eulogy will be given by her grandson, Jay Schafer, at approximately 2 PM. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion.
Thelma was born in Creal Springs on Feb 14, 1928, to Frank and Grace Lemasters. She graduated from Crab Orchard High School in 1946.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bob Schafer; her brothers, Lloyd Lemasters and Clifford Lemasters; her sisters, Irene Motsinger, Beatrice Gall, and Bernadine Redmond.
She is survived by her son, Larry Schafer and wife, Laura; daughter, Vicky Schafer; grandson, Jay Schafer and wife, Michelle and great grandchildren, Montana Schafer and Cole Schafer; sisters, Alma Rector, Juanita Grisham, and Wilma Johns and many nieces, nephews, friends and her chocolate lab, Ginger.
