THOMAS LADON SPILLER

Johnston City, IL–Thomas LaDon Spiller 79, of Johnston City, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 3:24 P.M. at the Heartland Reginal Medical Center in Marion, IL.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday September 20, 2017, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, IL with Pastor Barry Robertson officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at funeral home.

Thomas was born on October 23, 1937 in Carterville, IL, the son of William Arthur and Bessie Elois (Walker) Spiller. He married Emma (Stawarczik) on June 3, 1967 in Johnston City, IL. She preceded him in death on April 2, 1999.

Thomas was a retired coal miner working for 32 years and was a member of the U.M.W.A. He was a member of the Washington Avenue Baptist Church of Johnston City, IL.

He is survived by a daughter, Tina McCormick of Henderson, KY; a son. Russ Spiller and wife Diana of Dexter, KY; his loving companion, Lynda Neely of Johnston City, IL; 6 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, LaDonna Kay Spiller; brothers, Sherman, Gilbert, Robert, Glenn, James, and Raymond Spiller; sisters, Mildred Edwards, Lona M. Hoppie, Mary Margaret Totlebon, and Flora Frances Spiller.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
