TRINKA ALTENBERGER

Herrin-Trinka Altenberger, 61 passed away at 4:30 P.M. Thursday May 23, 2019 surrounded by her family.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday May 29, 2019 at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.

Trinka was born on April 26, 1958 in Herrin the daughter of Jim and Golda (Spees). Shubert. She married Chris Altenberger on June 23, 2007 in Caulfield, MO. He survives.

Trinka was a girl and boy scout leader and little league president in Hurst.

She is survived by one son, Geoff Hammonds and wife Ashley of Herrin; two daughters, Cassie Bush and husband Zac of Herrin and Samantha Williams of Bush; step-daughter, Hope Mallett and husband Tony; ten grandchildren, A.J. Hammonds, Derrick Hammonds, Bella Williams, William McCarty, Angel Williams, KayeLynn Williams, Nicholas Williams, Lucas Mallett, Kenzi Mallett, and Roxas Mallett; two sisters, Cay Bowers of Herrin and Kathy Johnson and husband David of Marietta, GA; one brother, Bill Shubert and wife Linda of Johnston City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Derrick Hammonds; a brother, Dale Davis; a sister, Barbara Roach.
