VERNA LEE ROBERTSON

Johnston City–Verna Lee Robertson 65, of Johnston City passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 1:21 A.M. at the Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at the Gospel Mission Church in Johnston City on Friday June 18, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Larry Marrs officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City and from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. Friday at the Church.

Memorials may be made to the Gospel Mission Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.

Verna was born on May 6, 1945 in DuQuoin, the daughter of Bernard and Aliene Knapp. She married William Henry Robertson on December 21, 1973 in Johnston City. He survives.

Verna previously worked at Smoler's Dress Factory in Herrin, National Transformer in Johnston City, and last worked as a C.N.A. at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin.

She was a member of the Gospel Mission Church of Johnston City.

She is survived by one daughter, Andrea Hall and husband Chris of Johnston City; a step daughter, Stacy Gardner and husband Bert of West Frankfort; seven grandchildren, Michael A. Jamerson, Kendra N. Hall, Jessica L. Hall, Ariana Lee Dean Hall, Sarina Elly Marie Hall, Hannah Gardner, and Katelyn Gardner; one brother, Billy Knapp of DuQuoin; one sister, Norma Cowger of West Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Marylou Knapp.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
