VICKI LAUREN SUMMERS

Johnston City–Vicki Lauren Summers 58 passed away at 6:44 A.M. in the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion on Saturday October 8, 2011 after a long battle with diabetes.

She was born on April 12, 1953 the daughter of Willis and Patricia Summers of Johnston City.

Vicki worked for G.T.E., Norge, Johnston City State Bank, and 19 years at Blue Cross and W.P.S until 2005 when her health failed.

Vicki is survived by her parents; one sister, Kim Evans and husband Allan; one brother, Mitchell Summers; nephews, Jonathon, Rex and Nicholas Summers, Alex Evans; great nephew, Kobie Tanner; nieces, Ashley Tanner, Hannah Summers; great niece, Jillian Tanner; aunts, Alice Giacomo, Betty Smith, Rosalee Clayton and husband Jerry, and Judy Culbreth; uncles, Michael Smith and wife Nancy, and Paul Smith and wife Darlene; great aunts, Ruth Jent, and Virginia Smith; cousins, Brenda Alford, Connie Giacomo, Brian Clayton, Tonja Albright, Sean Smith, Melissa Pickens, Amy Gerwe, Stacy Culbreth, Dena McLocklin, and Holli Smith; and her life long best friend, Angie Flint.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ray and Janie Summers; maternal grandparents, Loren and Eva Smith; uncles, Larry Culbreth and John Giacomo.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday October 11, 2011, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Andy Lee officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
