VIRGIL DARNELL

Virgil ("Curt") Darnell, 62, passed away at 1:55 A.M. on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Integrity Nursing Center in Marion under the care of Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Curt was born in Peoria, Illinois, to Virgil Sr and Sharron Darnell. He loved the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the 10 years he, his wife, and stepdaughter lived there, only leaving due to Hurricane Katrina. He also loved soccer, classic rock, and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil Darnell Sr and Sharron (Darnell) Ford, and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife Andrea (Roach) Darnell, stepdaughter Freddie (Amanda Viner) Darnell, his beloved dogs Malcolm, Beatrice, and Zoe, and one fat orange cat Winston McMittens.
He is also survived by his two sons and their families including two beautiful granddaughters, his sister Lori (Scott) Duncan, his brother Patrick (Rosalina) Darnell, as well as neices, nephews, and cousins.

A public service will not be held. A private memorial service with friends and family will be held at a later date.

Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
