VIRGINIA HOWERTON

Johnston City-Virginia Howerton 73 passed away at 12:56 P.M. Friday June 28, 2024 in the Herrin Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 6, 2024, in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on December 25, 1950 in Herrin the daughter of Ray and Bessie (Vick) Dare. She married Bobby Joe Howerton on April 10, 1971 in Johnston City. He survives.

She was a secretary for the Johnston City School District and the Williamson County Superintendent of Schools.

She is survived by a sister, Linda Caron of Gas City, IN; a cousin who was like a sister, Brenda Litton and husband Ron of Johnston City; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Chad Howerton; brother, Bennie Dare; and a brother-in-law Louie Caron.

She will be sorely missed.
