VIVIAN LUCILLE RAY

Johnston City–Vivian Lucille Ray 90, of Johnston City passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 8:00 A.M. at her family home.

Services will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Thursday October 28, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Paul LeClercq officiating. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery east of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Vivian was born on August 2, 1920 in Johnston City the daughter of Oscar and Nancy (Chunn) Lannom. She married to Herman Ray on October 19, 1936 in Benton. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1988. They had been married for 52 years.

She was a life long member of the Rebecca's.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Ruth Jolly and husband Howard of Thompsonville, and Gail McKenzie and husband James of Julian, CA; two sons, William Ray and wife Jewel of Clinton, IN, and Edgar Ray and wife Sharon of West Frankfort; 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 24 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Berniece Litton and Ester Lannom; brothers, Altie Lannom, Thurmond Lannom, Everett Lannom, Danean Lannom, Chester Lannom, and Altie Lee Lannom.
