WANDA JANE CHILDERS
Johnston City-Wanda Jane Childers, 73, of Johnston City passed away at 8:45 A.M. on Friday April 1, 2011 at her family home.
Services will be held on Monday April 4, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Larry Marrs officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday April 3, at the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City.
Wanda was born on January 17, 1938 in West Frankfort the daughter of Henry Williams and Dean (Avery) Williams who preceded her in death. She married Jack Childers on July 16, 1959.
Her family was her whole life and she has raised children for the past 54 years and was currently raising a great grandchild, Kaleb Thompson. She loved working in the yard and swimming in the pool.
She is survived by her husband: Jack Childers of Johnston City, IL; four daughters: Donnita Christopher and husband David of Herrin, Dena Childers of Johnston City, Dana Hope of Johnston City, and Jackie Childers of Johnston City; son: Chad Childers and wife Tiffany of Blue Mound; twelve grandchildren: Shannon Mason of Herrin, Shauna Christopher of Evansville, IN., Desiree Childers of Johnston City, Britnee Beers of Marion, Dakota Beers of St. Petersburg, FL., Brandi Myers of Decatur, Cheyenne Childers of Blue Mound, Emma Childers of Blue Mound, Juliet Childers of Blue Mound, Brandon Campbell of Johnston City, Brooke Williams of Herrin, and Ciara Campbell of Herrin; nine great grandchildren: Elijah and Noah Mason of Herrin, Kaleb Thompson and Mairee Fairbourn of Johnston City, Dylen Beers of St. Petersburg FL, Morgen Beers of St. Petersburg FL., Sydnee Loyd of Marion, Kadence Clay of Herrin, and Bentley Williams of Herrin; two brothers: Ted Williams and wife Judy of Johnston City and Dan Williams and wife Joan of West Frankfort; three aunts: Jewell Smith of Johnston City, Evelyn Mahan of Johnston City, and Peg Brotherton of West Frankfort; sister-in-law: Mary Ann Hudson and husband Ronald Ray of Herrin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and son-in-law: Mike Hope.
