WILLIAM-DANIEL HANS PAYNE
Johnston City-William-Daniel Hans Payne 25, of Johnston City passed away at 3:20 P.M. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at M-Class Mining in Thompsonville.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Frank Caruso officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers a trust fund has been set up at Southern Illinois Bank in Johnston City for his son, Trent, due next month. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Daniel was born on July 14, 1988 in Carbondale, the son of Brian and Sharon (Hartung) Payne. He married Terra (Harriss) on June 4, 2011 in DeSoto. She survives.

Daniel was a coal miner at M-Class Mining. He graduated Johnston City High School in 2007 where he participated in football, wrestling, and baseball. He was a member of the National Honor Society. He was an avid motorcycle rider and raced go carts and dirt track race cars. He was a member of the Buccaneer's Club of Johnston City. He loved to hunt, fish and to be with family and friends. He also loved spending time with his pets Maggie, Willie, and Jack.

He is survived by his parents of Johnston City; his sister, Samantha Payne of Johnston City; maternal grandparents, Faye and Earl Hutchinson of Marion and Betty and George Kupczak of Carbondale; paternal grandmother, Maryann Payne of Johnston City; a great grandmother, Louise Still of Johnston City; uncles and aunts, Karl and John Hartung, Shawn, Shayne, and Scott Hutchinson, Kathy Estes and Erika Frick, Tim Payne and Debbie Belt; mother and father-in-law, Michael and Cathy Harriss; brother/sister-in-laws, Matthew and wife Sarah and Shane Harriss; aunts, Candace Kochinsky and Jean Smith; and other special aunts and uncles, several cousins, a niece, Kaelyn and a nephew, Hayden.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Hans Hartung and Lindell Payne; great grandfather, Joseph "Gramps" Tkocz; and a great grandmother, Sophie Kochinsky; an uncle, Michael Payne; and a cousin, Connie Smith.
