WILMA LEE HARRIS

Johnston City–Wilma Lee Harris, 89 of Johnston City passed away at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center of Herrin.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday September 7, 2013, at the First Christian Church of Johnston City with Pastor Lee Petty officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Johnston City. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.

Wilma was born on August 9, 1924, in Evansville, IN, the daughter of William Thomas Shubert and Elma Melissa (Kirkendall) Shubert Branson. She married Gail M. Harris on April 1, 1941 in Cape Girardeau, MO. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1995.

Wilma was a factory worker. She was a homemaker and a care giver to family members. She was a national certified genealogist. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Johnston City. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Daughters of the 1812.

She is survived by a son, Raymond E. Harris and wife Annette of Marion; two daughters, Marjorie Williams of Johnston City; and Debbie Pulley and husband Michael of Columbus, Mississippi; six grandchildren, James Michael Parker and wife Kelley, Randell R. Harris, Julie A. Revelle and husband David, Shanna L. Fleming and husband Rob, Aimee N. Sweet and husband Richard, and Brandon M. Pulley and Fiancée Mandy; great grandchildren, Jamie M. Musgrave, Bryana Parker, Beth Revelle, Mitchell Fleming, and Jocelynn Sweet; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Musgrave, Matthew Robert Musgrave and Hailey Musgrave.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Patrick Bryan Parker; five sisters, Surilda, Eva, Melba, Margaret, and Naomi Faye; and three brothers; Raymond, Marion Earl, and James..
