WILMA JUNE SIMMONS

Marion–Wilma June Simmons 76 passed away at 9:02 A.M. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at home.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday June 6, 2026, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Gavinn Swann officiating. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery of Marion. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Wilma was born on June 3, 1949, in Plumville, the daughter of Milton Lee and Euva Nadine (Tanner) Caplinger. She married Stephen Monroe Simmons on August 25, 1984 at their home in Whiteash. He survives.

She was baptized at age 12 at the 3rd Baptist Church of Marion. Her hobbies included painting flowers, gardening, reading, going to yard sales, and auctions. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She went to high school in Florida and graduated in 1968. She went to John A. Logan and graduated with an associate.

She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Wedding; a son, Michael Swann; grandchildren, Brianna Swann, Elizabeth Swann; and Gavinn Swann; great grandchildren, Brynlee Kienath, Allorick Strickland, and Ezriella Strickland; many nieces and nephews, Timmy Caplinger, Tommy Caplinger, Debbie Caplinger, Amy Pryor, and Lori Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother Wayne.
